Imagine something rubbing on your skin and causing an irritation. Now imagine that there is a food that you are eating on a regular basis, and unbeknownst to you, it is causing this same type of irritation, but inside your body. Whether your pain and inflammation is in your digestive tract, your joints or your head (causing headache or migraine), food sensitivities can wreak havoc on your health.
Different from food allergies, food hypersensitivities are still a function of your immune system. Any disorder with an inflammatory component can be prompted by and irritating food, but the following are some examples:
- Migraine and headache
- Autoimmune disease
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Crohn’s disease (an inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD)
- Ulcerative colitis (an inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD)
- GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease)
- Irritable bowel disease
- Eosinophilic esophagitis (EE)
- PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
I use the patented MRT (mediator release test) to evaluate 150 common food and food chemicals and determine a person’s reactive foods. Then utilizing the LEAP diet protocol I develop a customized eating plan to reduce inflammation. Pain relief and reduction of symptom are usually seen within 10-14 days.
